Handheld-device inventory control application increases client’s accuracy and efficiency.
Griffin, GA, January 3, 2010: Atlanta-based Stone Soup Technology recently completed the development of a custom handheld-device inventory control application for a Williams-Sonoma distribution center. The client needed an inventory-control solution that would run on a Motorola MC75 which uses the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system. The end-user is a warehouse staff member who is responsible for scanning in all contents of a trailer with the Motorola MC75 before items are placed on the shelves to be pulled for order fulfillment. The application allows for precise documentation of the contents of the trailer by standardizing trailer number, date format and carton identification numbers, offering several built-in safeguards against duplicate numbering and sessions, and exporting all data to either a Microsoft Excel or CSV file.
